Lift Witham Sixth Form is delighted and proud to partner with FITC to offer an exciting Football Academy programme that combines high-performance football with a first-class education. The programme gives students the opportunity to develop their footballing talent while gaining the qualifications, knowledge and skills needed for a successful future, both on and off the pitch.
As a Football Academy student, you will have the opportunity to play football every day, with your time divided between professional football development and academic study. Students receive two hours of professional football coaching four days a week, led by UEFA-qualified coaches, as well as opportunities to represent the Academy in both league and cup competitions. Alongside this, students complete six hours of academic study each week, allowing them to continue developing their academic potential while pursuing their passion for football.
The academic element of the programme is the Cambridge Technical in Sport and Physical Activity, a two-year, full-time qualification designed to develop the practical skills, knowledge and understanding needed to progress into employment, higher education or further study within the sports sector. Assessment includes a combination of coursework and examinations.
